Overview
Accountability Sandwich is a private web application built by The Social Sandwich (operated by Edwin Smith, ABN available on request). It is available exclusively to current Club Sandwich members and connects to Instagram via Meta's official API to display weekly post performance on a private leaderboard.
This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.
1. What data we collect
When you connect your Instagram account, we collect and store the following:
From your Instagram profile:
• Your Instagram username (handle)
• Your current follower count
• Your name and email address (entered by you at connection)
From your recent posts (last 30 days):
• Post captions (used only to classify post type; not shared publicly)
• Post type (Reel, image, carousel)
• Publish date and time
• Like count
• Comment count
• Reach (number of unique accounts that saw the post)
• Views (total plays, Reels only)
• Shares (Reels only)
• Saves
• Average watch time (Reels only)
• A link to the post and its thumbnail image
We do not collect passwords, direct messages, story views, follower lists, or any other account data.
2. How we use your data
Your data is used solely for the following purposes:
• Displaying your weekly post count, shares, and reach on the Club Sandwich member leaderboard
• Showing your individual post stats on your personal member page (visible to other Club Sandwich members)
• Classifying each post into Trust, Action, or Growth categories based on caption content (this classification is automated and used only to show post-type breakdowns on your profile)
• Tracking your posting consistency over time within the app
We will never use your data for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any purpose outside this app.
3. Who can see your data
Your stats (post count, shares, reach) are visible to other current Club Sandwich members who are logged into the app.
Your individual post captions are not displayed publicly within the app. They are stored in our database and used only for automated post classification.
Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party. It is stored securely in Supabase (supabase.com), a cloud database provider, on servers located in the United States.
4. What we will never do
• Post, comment, like, or take any action on your Instagram account
• Access your direct messages or inbox
• Read your stories or story insights
• Collect your payment details
• Share your data with advertisers or any other third party
• Store your Facebook or Instagram password
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your post data and profile information for as long as you are an active Club Sandwich member.
Access tokens provided by Meta expire after 60 days and must be renewed by reconnecting your account. Expired tokens are removed from our system automatically.
6. How to revoke access
You can remove Accountability Sandwich's access to your Instagram at any time via Facebook Settings:
Facebook Settings > Security and Login > Business Integrations > find "Accountability Sandwich" and click Remove.
Revoking access in Facebook Settings stops any future data collection immediately.
7. Requesting deletion of your data
To request that all your data be permanently deleted from our database, email us at:

Please include "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line and the email address or Instagram handle associated with your account. We will action all deletion requests within 7 days.
8. Third-party services
Accountability Sandwich uses the following third-party services to operate:
• Meta (Instagram Graph API) — to read your post data. Governed by Meta's Data Policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy
• Supabase (supabase.com) — our database provider, used to store your post metrics and profile information securely
• Vercel (vercel.com) — our hosting provider, used to serve the application
None of these providers are authorised to use your data for their own purposes beyond what is required to deliver the service.
9. Children's privacy
Accountability Sandwich is intended for adult business owners only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify Club Sandwich members via email or the Club Sandwich membership portal before the changes take effect.
